SEL has infrastructure to manufacture 25000 MT of cast alloy grinding balls & castings annually with state of the art machinery and equipment divided in three units located in Jamshedpur.
Equipments like high pressure moulding machine, no bake continuous mixer, arpa moulding machines, intensive mixers, product handling system, globally accredited heat treatment furnaces and machining facility comprise the entire infrastructure to manufacture quality excellence.
SEL also engages in sustainable solutions by generating renewable energy for its lighting purposes by solar panels.
Fully Automatic Sand Plant with Arpa moulding machines with automatic mould handling system & pouring lines. We also practice hand moulding from our age-old specialists. We also have facilities for the No Bake Plant & Shell Moulding Plant as per customer’s demands.
The plant also consists of a continuous Heat Treatment Oil Quenching Furnace & also the Bogie type heat treatment furnace.
Our plant also has a dedicated fettling shop, shot blasting equipment machinery & rotary tumbling facilities.

Our testing labs are equipped with a range of essential equipment, including a Sand Rammer, Drier, Weight, and Moisture Testing apparatus, Sand Compression tester, Mould Hardness Tester, Permeability Meter, and Sand Siever. These tools enable us to conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of sand and mould properties to ensure optimal casting outcomes.
We have a dedicated Chemical Lab equipped with modern equipment to analyze material specifications and compositions. This advanced laboratory enables us to accurately assess the chemical properties of the materials used in our castings, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards.
To assess hardness, we employ a Hardness Testing Machine capable of performing Rockwell and BHN (Brinell Hardness Number) tests. Additionally, we utilize a Universal Testing Machine for conducting Tensile Testing, which allows us to evaluate the mechanical strength and performance characteristics of our castings.
Our advanced Micro Testing capabilities utilize an Image Analyzer, combined with a microscope, to analyze the microstructure of steel and cast iron. This detailed examination provides valuable insights into the internal structure of the castings, aiding in quality control and process optimization.
Our Spectro Analysis equipment, specifically the Ametek Spectrometer, enables precise and accurate analysis of material composition. This spectroscopic analysis ensures that the castings meet the required specifications and helps in identifying any potential variations or impurities.
We employ Magmasoft, an autonomous casting optimization software, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our casting processes. This cutting-edge technology utilizes simulation and analysis to optimize casting parameters, resulting in improved quality and reduced production costs.
The Sigmameter is utilized to determine the magnetic saturation of ferromagnetic compounds. This measurement helps in evaluating the magnetic properties of castings, ensuring their suitability for specific applications and adherence to relevant standards.
